Do you ever get that feeling where you don’t want to talk to anybody? You don’t want to smile and you don’t want to fake being happy. But at the same time you don’t know exactly what’s wrong either. There isn’t a way to explain it to someone who doesn’t already understand. If you could want anything in the world it would be to be alone. People have stopped being comforting and being alone never was.

At least no one will constantly ask you what is wrong and there isn’t anyone who won’t take ‘I don’t know’ for an answer. You feel the way you do just because. You hope the feeling will pass soon and that you will be able to be yourself again, but until then all you can do is wait.

Life is short. We have no time to do the things we truly want to do, the things we really need to see. With all the technology we have these days, we have become disconnected and impersonal. We simply reach for the computer and can talk to someone you have never met or chat it up with an old friend a million miles away. No longer do people search for the comfort of a familar touch or the happiness of two people sharing a good laugh. Phones, texting, email, internet…they distance us from who are right in front of us.

There is a place, a time and moment for everyone. We have a destiny waiting for us in every new face and each new experience. We cannot depend on technology for all our needs because frankly, they weren’t meant to fulfill them. They weren’t meant to replace our friends and family. We are meant to seek out adventures and excitement; whether that be in the form of a family or a lifetime of travel or a little of both.

I know where I stand and what I want from this life. It is scary though, because I don’t know how to reach out and grab it all.

Someday, I will stand upon the highest mountain, I will touch the oldest tree and take in the greatest moments of history. I will find so many new moments that will exhilarate my body and keep my mind fresh. I know this to be true… what I cannot know though, is who will be with me to experience these things. Time can only tell me who I will share this life with.
